A rollover is a feedback cue activated when the cursor is positioned over a particular part of a webpage. Feedback cues may include a change in colour, image or sound.
A disjointed rollover is where the visual-feedback does not correspond with the location of the cursor. The use of disjointed rollovers may be required when navigation labels are shortened (due to screen-width); a description can be displayed underneath or alongside navigation text to provide more information on the section’s content.
