About the Album

Ready for the Dance was recorded in an inner city warehouse in Wellington, where the mortar from the bricks lightly dusts your amplifier, and the roof gently leaks rainwater next to the wall sockets.

The songs were recorded live, mostly in one of two takes and then we added vocals, guitars, noises. Mistakes were made and kept. Arrangements were re-written on the spot. Engineer David Coventry captured our variously quiet murmurings and wild racket. As we gently sail over the cliff - whoosh ... BLAM!!!
